One of Juniper Training’s pre-apprenticeship students is on track to progress to a Level 2 roofing apprenticeship.

Lewis Walker has been learning new skills at Ladder member Juniper’s construction training centre in Aldridge.

Lewis said: “I didn’t sit any GCSEs at school but did pass Level 1 functional skills in English and maths towards the end of secondary school.”

He joined Juniper Training to learn how to be a roofer.

“I’ve been passing my qualifications and gaining certificates while I’ve been on the course. Juniper have helped me gain lots of new skills that I can use once I start my apprenticeship.”

While at Juniper Lewis has passed his Level 1 Construction, Level 2 English, and gained certificates in manual handling, fire safety, abrasive wheels, working at height and asbestos awareness.

Lewis is still to sit his CSCS test and he is working towards Level 2 maths that it is hoped he will be completing soon.

Anyone interested in starting a career in construction can apply via the website junipertraining.co.uk, e-mail enquiries@junipertraining.co.uk or call 07956 665746.
