Funding and incentives
Hiring an apprentice can qualify employers to benefit from government funded grants and incentives that aim to support you and your apprentice.
The Ladder for Staffordshire outlines the current grants and incentives below.

£1000 apprenticeship incentive
Employers are entitled to a £1000 incentive payment when taking on an apprentice aged 16-18, or anyone under 25, formerly in care or who has an education and health care plan.
The £1000 payment will be paid to your training provider. Organisations can claim this on production of specified evidence at set intervals throughout the programme. For information, click here.
The apprenticeship levy
The apprenticeship levy is a tax on employers which is used to fund training and development through apprenticeships. The aim of the tax is to increase the number of apprenticeships offered by companies in the UK.
